2. Paper dove (Peace)
"Paper Dove" was conceived as a lullaby and represents that serenity and peace we feel when we are with someone who makes us feel good.
The voices, very present throughout the song, almost represent a transcendence - characteristic of when we are on cloud nine, when we are in love with someone.
3. It could be (the future)
"It Can Be" is the most optimistic song on the entire EP. It represents the hope of thinking about the future, making plans, and dreaming about what's to come.
The song is energetic and lively, reflecting that almost restless excitement and emotion we feel at the coolest point of love.
4. Next to me (the wait)
"Next to me" marks the turning point in this story of (un)love.
It speaks of a moment of uncertainty, of powerlessness due to the power that the other has to decide our destiny.
It is a song that conveys that profound disorientation, the weight and hardness of the blow, the obsessive thinking while life goes on outside, and the suffocation in a sea of doubts.
5. The dream (the fall)
"The dream" represents the great fall. The pain and disbelief of a great disappointment and the awareness that the other still holds the power.
It is a heartbreaking, raw song that reflects a moment of loneliness and helplessness, which comes to life in a cathartic outpouring of emotion through voice and piano.
6. I said goodbye (let go)
